COLUMBIA, Mo. – Coming off the Star's first win of the season, the Stephens College soccer team fell 4-1 to Bethel (Kan.) College. The Stars are now 1-2-1 on the season.

Junior Sierra Thibault scored the Stephens' goal in the 58th minute with a short shot to the right side off a flip throw-in from freshman Emily York.

Bethel scored two goals in the first half and added two more after the Star's goal.

The Stars were outshot 28-5, but four of the five Star's shots were on goal. Freshman Morgan Lange led the Star's offense with two shots on goal.

Sophomore Maeghan Ely (1-2-1) spent the first 45 minutes in goal and made eight stops. Senior Gerica Curry stood guard in the second half and made seven stops.

The Stars host Southwestern Christian College for their second-to-last non-conference game on Saturday, September 9, at 1 p.m.
