Stars Sit Seventh After Day One at AMC Championship

EUGENE, Mo. – The Stephens College golf team played through chilly wind and rainy conditions on Monday to complete the first day of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Golf Championship with six other teams. The Stars sit in seventh after the first 18 holes and hold a total score of 472. 

Ellie LaPosha (FR/St. Peters, Mo.) leads the team after day one, sitting in 32nd place with a 105.

Brittany Wise (JR/Columbia, Mo.) holds a 118 at the completion of day one and sits in 35th. Bartels comes in just behind with a one stroke difference, footing 36th place.

Kelsey Cyganik (SR/Oceanside, Calif.) rounds out the team with a 130.

Columbia College currently leads the Championship with a one stroke advantage over William Woods University.

The Stars return back to the Redfield Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, May 2, for the second round of the AMC Championship.
