Tennis Battles with Greenville, Falls 5-4

GREENVILLE, Ill. – Stephens College tennis is one step closer to finding a win after competing against NCAA Division III Greenville College on Thursday afternoon. The Stars needed just one more point to go their way to win the match, but Greenville managed to win the final point needed to win 5-4. The Stars continue to look for a win as they now sit 0-3 on the season.

In doubles, Allex Looper (FR/Beaver, Okla.) and Aleesa Wolf (SR/Moberly, Mo.) won their match against Greenville 8-4 in the number two doubles.

In singles play, Jada Kyle (JR/Jackson, Tenn.) defeated her opponent in the number one slot, 6-4 and 6-1. In the number three spot, Looper was just one point away from a sweep, 6-0 and 6-1. Wolf won the final match for the Stars in the number four slot with a 6-4 and a 6-3 win.

The Stars return home for a string of conference matches starting with St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday. Doubles competition begins at 11:00 am at the Hickman High School Tennis Courts.
